To ensure a quality release, some requirements have to be checked before.

  • Remove unused files and unused boards.
  • All source files must comply with the coding guidelines.
  • Compilation of the BIOS for all boards must succeed, with a minimum number of warnings as possible.
  • Release flags for BIOS build
  • Compilation of all boards must also succeed, with a minimum number of warnings as possible.
  • Timing requirements must be met for all boards.
  • Boards must be checked separately with the current BIOS:
    • Norton commander, with mouse
    • Microsoft Windows
    • Lemmings
  • Building the BIOS must succeed also in Windows
  • Simulation of the Zet processor with Modelsim must work, as well as simulation with all boards.
  • In Quartus II, project file:
    • Ensure that no design partitions exist in the Quartus II project file and: incremental compilation and SignalTap II analyzer are off.
    • Go to menu Project > Organize Quartus II Settings File
  • Write a correct README file explaining the contents of the package
